EU Foreign Ministers to discuss block of Russia from SWIFT Banking Network

Baku, 27 January, REPORT.AZ/ EU foreign ministers at the meeting to be held on January 29 to discuss the possibility of blocking Russia from the international SWIFT banking network system, as well as a list of new sanctions against companies and banks in the country, Report informs referring to Bloomberg.

In particular, in Brussels explores the possibility of expanding the list of goods and technologies whose export to Russia planned to stop. In addition, the Commission may prohibit the purchase of Russian sovereign debt, as well as to expand the list of individuals whose assets in Europe can be frozen.

New sanctions must be approved by all 28 member countries of the European Union.
