EU Commissioner: Italy's national debt is the main problem of the European Commission

Baku. 21 November. REPORT.AZ/ The European Commission is deeply concerned about the size of Italy’s public debt, EU Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affair Pierre Moscovici said at a press conference, Report informs.

"The size of the Italian public debt, which we do not expect to decline in the couple of years ahead, remains the main subject of concern for us," he said.

Earlier, EC Deputy Chairman Valdis Dombrovskis said that Italy's draft state budget for 2019 deviates significantly from the budgetary rules established in the European Union and also contradicts the obligations earlier assumed by the Italian government.
