EBRD updates investment portfolio for Azerbaijan

As of February 1, 2024, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) invested 3.694 billion euros in 189 projects in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the EBRD.

Although the number of projects financed by the EBRD in Azerbaijan did not change as of January 1, the investment portfolio has increased by 70 million euros.

The share of the private sector in the EBRD's investment portfolio for Azerbaijan remained unchanged at 26%.

Currently, EBRD is running 31 projects in Azerbaijan. The portfolio for these projects is 917 million euros (20 million euros more), operating assets total 693 million euros (14 million euros more), and cumulative payments are 3.091 billion euros (62 million euros more).

According to the revised portfolio, 90%, or 826 million euros (down 17 million euros), fell to the share of infrastructure projects, 7%, or 65 million euros (up 3 million euros), to the share of industry, trade, and agribusiness, and 3%, or 26 million euros (remained unchanged), to the share of financial institutions.

EBRD's investments in Azerbaijan make up 1% of its total portfolio.

Azerbaijan has been a member of the EBRD since 1992.
