EBRD: Azerbaijani economy's growth creates opportunities for foreign investment flow

The growth of the Azerbaijani economy creates an opportunity for the inflow of foreign investment, Kamola Makhmudova, head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Azerbaijan, said online at the Azerbaijan-EU business forum.

She noted that the Azerbaijani government had provided significant assistance to the non-oil sector during the pandemic, emphasizing the role of the Central Bank in economic growth.

According to Makhmudova, reforms in the banking sector should be aimed at strengthening control of payments.

She stressed the importance of cooperation with Azerbaijani government agencies and said the EBRD was ready to share its experience in this work.

The head of the bank's office in Azerbaijan highlighted that the EBRD is implementing projects in Azerbaijan in the field of green technologies, agriculture, transport, and other areas.
