Turkiye posts 79% increase in consumer price index

A rise in the general index was realized in CPI in the previous month by 4.95%, in the same month of the last year by 78.62% in Turkiye, Report informs, citing the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
These are 0.51 percentage points and 0.85 percentage points higher than the forecasts, respectively.
During the reporting period, the inflation peaked at 123.37% in transportation, 93.93% in food and non-alcoholic beverages and 81.14% furnishings and household equipment. The indicator was the lowest in communication (23,74 %), clothes and footwear (26.99%), education (27.76%) and healthcare (39.34%).
