Central Bank of Azerbaijan has no plans to issue digital currency

At the moment, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has no plans to issue a digital currency, CBA Chairman Taleh Kazimov told a press conference, Report informs.
“The technology used for digital currency is very important. For this reason, we regularly monitor this area. CBA examines what central banks of other countries are doing and what they have achieved in this field. Digital currency raises questions both in terms of operations and the stability of the financial sector. Currently, there is no successful product of any central bank in this regard,” Kazimov said.
