Old and new US dollars are in circulation and are accepted without any problems in Azerbaijan, Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Governor Taleh Kazimov told a press conference, according to Report.
"In our market, old and new US dollars are classified by paper color and year of issue. However, this currency, issued before or after 2006, is in circulation, and there are no problems with its acceptance in exchange transactions.
Someone raised this issue and citizens are not buying old dollars from banks. As a result, banks send the remaining old-style dollars abroad and order new ones, for which they pay a certain commission," added Taleh Kazimov.
