CBA preserves discount rate unchangeable

Baku. 1 August. REPORT.AZ/ With the decision of the Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), the discount rate is at the level of 10%, the upper and lower margin of interest rate corridor is preserved in the symmetric range at the level of +/- 2% (upper limit 12%, lower limit 8%).

Report informs, Chairman of Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Elman Rustamov said at a press conference today.

Notably, board of directors of the organization made decision on reducing discount rate from 15% to 13% on February 12, 2018, upper margin of interest rate corridor from 18% to 16%, while lower margin from 10% to 8% and then lowering the discount rate from 13% to 11% on April 9, 2018, upper and lower margin of interest rate corridors being at +/- 3%, and then reducing interest rate from 11% to 10% on August 14, 2018, as well as preserving upper and lower margin of the interest rate corridor in the symmetric range at the level of +/- 2%.
