“Currently, the demand for manat in the foreign exchange market is high,” Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Taleh Kazimov told the presser, Report informs.
“Most likely, until the end of this year, our intervention in the foreign exchange market will remain purchase-oriented. But we will implement our monetary policy without affecting high economic activity,” he said.
CBA Executive Director Ali Ahmadov said that since the beginning of this year, $967 million have been bought from the foreign exchange market.
“It is difficult to predict how much this number will make up by the end of the year, but for now, the situation in the market is stable,” he noted.
