Azerbaijani banks see 8% growth in assets

As of June 1, 2021, the assets of Azerbaijan-based banks assets amounted to AZN 33,810.7 million, up 8.2% from a year earlier, Report informs citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
Of this, the loans issued to customers amounted to AZN 13,501 million. The loan portfolio grew 3.55%, the share of loans in assets decreased from 41.7% to 39.9%.
In the reporting period, the liabilities grew by 8.8% to AZN 29,058.2 million with the deposit portfolio risen by 10.6% to AZN 22,065.5 million. Individuals accounted for AZN 8,478 million, while legal entities made up AZN 13,587.5 million.
The liabilities of the banks to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) dropped by 6.6% to AZN 371.3 million, and net worth surged by 4.2% to AZN 4,752.5 million.
