Azerbaijan's social-oriented budget spending exceeded $8.5B in 2024

In 2024, 39% of Azerbaijan's state budget expenditures, equivalent to 14.6 billion manats (around $8.6 billion), were allocated to social-oriented programs to enhance the social protection of the population, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said, Report informs.
He made the statement while presenting the government's annual report during today's plenary meeting of the Milli Majlis (Parliament).
"Last year, several significant decisions were made to increase social payments, aiming to strengthen the social protection of the population, particularly to improve the purchasing power and real income of the low-income segment," he noted.
