Azerbaijan’s public catering turnover rises over 8%

The turnover of public catering in Azerbaijan exceeded 1.244 billion manats (just over $732.1 million) in the first seven of 2024, up 8.2% year-on-year, Report informs, referring to the country’s State Statistical Committee.

The public sector accounted for 11.335 million manats (about $6.66 million) of the overall turnover and private sector made over 1.233 billion manats (roughly $725.4 million), which is 9% and 8.2% more, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

In the private sector, legal entities contributed 630.5 million manats (almost $371 million), accounting for 51.1% of the total turnover. This shows an increase of 9.6 percent from the corresponding period of 2023.

Meanwhile, 48.9% of turnover in the private sector for the reporting period fell to individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activity in this field.
