Azerbaijan cancelling 3-month waiting period for receiving insurance benefits

Azerbaijan will expand coverage of persons receiving unemployment insurance payments, Report informs.

In this regard, amendments were made to the law “On insurance against unemployment”, which was submitted December 14 for discussion at the plenary session of the Azerbaijani parliament.

It also provides for the cancellation of the three-month waiting period to receive insurance benefits.

After discussion, the draft amendments to the law were put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.
