As of July 1, the number of hired workers in Azerbaijan grew by 81,400 people (5%) compared to the same period last year, settling at 1,695,100. Report says that citing the State Statistics Committee, 922,100 worked in public, 773,000 in the private sector of the economy.
According to the information, 19.5% of employees are in the education, 18% in trade; repair of vehicles, 13% industry, 8.2% construction, 8% health and social services, 6.6% public administration and defense; social security, 4.5% transport and warehousing, 3.5% agriculture, forestry and fishing, 3.4% professional, scientific and technical activities, 1.7% finance and insurance 13.6% in other sectors of the economy.
In January-June this year, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in the country's economy increased by 23% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 720 manats. This salary was higher in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, professional, scientific and technical activities, information and communication, and transport and warehousing.
