Average monthly salary in Azerbaijan up by over 8%

In January-July 2024, the average monthly nominal salary in Azerbaijani increased by 8.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 1,002.4 manats ($589.65), Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

In the reporting period, the average monthly nominal salary was higher in the mining industry, financial and insurance, professional, scientific and technical, information and communication, as well as transport and warehousing areas of the economy.

As of August 1, 2024, the number of salaried workers in the country's economy was 1,759,000, of which 881,700 worked in the public sector, and 877,300 in the private sector.
