As of December 1, 2021, the number of wage workers in the economy climbed 20,400 people or 1.2% to 1,704,900.
Report informs citing the State Statistical Committee that 905,700 people were in the state sector, 799,200 - in the private sector.
Among the hired workers, 19.5% occupied positions in education, 18.6% in trade; repair of transport vehicles, 13% in the industrial sector, 8.1% in medical and social services provided to the population, 7.4% in construction, 6.6% in state management and defence; social security, 4.3% in transport and storage, 3.6% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.4% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.8% in finance and insurance, 13.7% - other economic spheres.
Compared with the previous year, the average monthly salary of wageworkers rose by 2.9% to AZN 722.1 in January-November 2021.
