Turkiye to host Istanbul Gas Summit in February

On February 14-15, 2023, Istanbul will host a gas summit (Istanbul Gas Summit) with the participation of gas-producing countries of the Middle East, the Mediterranean Sea and Central Asia, and consumers from Europe, Turkiye's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez said, Report informs via Anadolu.
Fatih Donmez further spoke about the steps taken to form an international gas hub in Turkiye.
According to him, currently Turkiye, along with Bulgaria, is discussing the gas supplies to North Macedonia, Romania and Moldova.
The minister also said that the director of the state company BOTAŞ is in Oman.
“We are preparing to sign a 10-year contract with Oman to purchase 1.4 billion gas per year,” Donmez said.
