Türkiye leads as top importer of Azerbaijani gas in 8 months of 2024

Azerbaijan exported 6.68 billion cubic meters of gas to Türkiye valued at $2.07 billion in January-August 2024, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.

Compared to the corresponding period of last year, the exports decreased by 7.2% in quantity and by 21% in value.

Overall, in the eight months of 2024, Azerbaijan exported 15.83 billion cubic meters of gas (-9%) worth $5.46 billion (-1.9 times). In total, gas was supplied to six countries during the reporting period - Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Türkiye, and Georgia.

Türkiye, Italy, and Bulgaria are TOP3 countries in terms of gas exports from Azerbaijan during the reporting period.

Türkiye ranked first, accounting for 42.2% of Azerbaijan’s total gas exports in January-August.
