SOCAR Turkiye, one of the leading exporters in Turkiye in 2021, has continuously carried on the production despite the negative effects of the pandemic, Mikayil Jabbarov, the Azerbaijani Minister of Economy and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SOCAR, said, Report informs citing the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
“In particular, we have achieved this success by supporting continuous production with the synergy, strong accountability, and technological transformation created by the integrated operation of SOCAR's subsidiaries Petkim and STAR NEZ. We are very proud to be among the top 10 exporters in Turkiye. Our contribution to the exports of friendly and brotherly Turkiye is especially important for us," the Minister said.
It is noteworthy that the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) has announced the list of "2021 Export Champions". SOCAR Turkiye, the largest foreign investor in Turkiye, was ranked 8th on the list. Petkim, a subsidiary of SOCAR Turkiye, is also ranked 22nd on the list of the "Top 1000 Exporters" of TIM.
10 companies with the largest export turnover in Turkiye last year received awards at the event held at the Halic Congress Center.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented SOCAR Turkiye's award to Mikayil Jabbarov.
SOCAR Turkiye was established in late 2006 as a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkiye. The company was established in Turkiye to implement projects in the field of oil refining and petrochemistry, and to trade in natural gas. SOCAR Turkiye Enerji owns a controlling stake in Petkim Petrokimya Holding.
The complex produces plastics, textiles, as well as ethylene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, and other petrochemical products used in the production of other consumer and industrial products.
Petkim's shares are valued at the Borsa Istanbul.
