Transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Poland in future is not ruled out, Nargiz Gurbanova, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Poland, said in her interview with Report.
As she stated, Azerbaijan’s main goal for today is the Southern Gas Corridor: “Azerbaijan’s natural resources are transported up to Italy via this corridor. But, at the same time, the establishment of connections – interconnector networks – for connecting countries in the European Union and extension of existing ones has been on the agenda for many years. In this case, actually, it is not excluded for the future that transportation of resources from Azerbaijan to Italy using new routes can be distributed to the other countries of Europe through these interconnector networks. This is a development related to the future.
The Ambassador stated that the Polish side is among countries that traditionally support the energy security in Europe: “Now and in a few years, the main goal of Poland’s internal policy is to secure energy independence by getting energy resources from multiple sources. This country has a few projects regarding it and they are running successfully.
Nargiz Gurbanova noted that as for oil products, oil is a global commodity now: “Azerbaijani oil is transported to the world markets by tankers after being carried through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. As we know, Poland has an oil refinery in Slovakia and Azerbaijan is also among the countries which supply high-quality petroleum products to this plant.
