Teymur Abdullayev: Electricity to be exported to Turkey, Europe via Zangazur corridor

In the near future, it will be possible to export electricity from Nakhchivan to Turkey and Europe, as Report informs, Teymur Abdullayev, head of the Public Relations Center of Azerenerji OJSC, told reporters.

"In this regard, in the coming days, the laying of a 330 kV 130-km-long line from Agjabadi and 132-km-long line from Imishli to Jabrayil will begin, including the construction of new substations with a capacity of 330 kV in Jabrayil and Nakhchivan, the laying of a 330 kV line to Nakhchivan through Zangazur corridor and reconstruction of 5 small hydroelectric power stations in Kalbajar. The implementation of this project, along with the Khudafarin and Gyz Galasi projects, will ensure the connection of Nakhchivan with the country's general energy system," Teymur Abdullayev said.

According to him, the laying of new lines will also begin in a number of directions: "The construction of substations with a capacity of 110 kV and lines, as well as the implementation of a circular power supply scheme for Karabakh, is envisaged in Lachin and other districts."

In 2021, 4 power plants with a total capacity of more than 20 megawatts were reconstructed in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur - the Gulabird (Lachin), Sugovushan-1, Sugovushan-2, and Kalbajar-1 HPPs.

Last year, 9 digital substations 110/35/10 kV were built in Karabakh and East Zangazur - Shusha, Fuzuli, Kalbajar, Jabrayil, Zangilan, Gubadli, Agdam-1, Agdam-2, and Shukurbayli substation was completely reconstructed.

Power transmission lines 110 kV 75 km long to Shusha and 110 km to Zangilan, 70 km long from Dashkasan to Kalbajar, 35 km long from Khindiristan to Agdam were laid from the Shukurbayli substation in two directions.
