STAR refinery reduces diesel production by 11%

The STAR refinery of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkiye produced 491,823 tons of diesel fuel in June 2022, a drop of 62,028 tons or 11.2% from June last year, Report informs, citing the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).
In general, refineries in Turkiye produced 1,435,267 tons of diesel fuel in June, a decrease of 128,488 tons, or 8.2%, from 553,851 tons in June 2021.
STAR Refinery was launched on October 19, 2018. The foundation of the plant was laid on October 5, 2011. STAR has Turkey's first Strategic Investment Promotion Document. In September 2019, the plant began operating at full capacity.
The plant has a refining capacity of 10 million tons of crude oil per year. The plant can process Urals, Azeri Light, and Kirkuk oils. Its main products are diesel fuel (4.8 million tons), jet fuel, naphtha (1.6 million tons), liquefied petroleum gas, mixed xylene, and petroleum coke.
