STAR refinery increases crude oil imports by 6%

In July 2022, STAR Refinery, an asset of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkiye, imported 981,900 crude oil, 55,200 tons or 6% more than in July last year, Report informs, citing the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).
During the month, STAR had a 23.5% share in crude oil imported to Turkiye.
STAR was inaugurated on October 19, 2018. The foundation of the plant was laid on October 5, 2011. In September 2019, the plant started working at full capacity.
The plant can process 10 million tons of crude oil per year. It is possible to process Urals, Azeri Light and Kirkuk types of oil at the enterprise. Its main products are diesel fuel (4.8 million tons), jet fuel, naphtha (1.6 million tons), liquid petroleum gas, mixed xylene, and petroleum coke.
