Solar energy production in Azerbaijan increased by 41%

In January-February 2022, Azerbaijan produced 7.5 million kWh of solar power, up 41.5% from the previous year and 5.1% from the first two months of 2020, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

In the reporting period, total electricity production made up 4,607.2 million kWh, 7.7% more than a year earlier.

Hydropower plants generated 146 million kWh of electricity, showing an 8.4% growth compared to a year ago.

Thermal power plants increased the production by 7.9% to 4,301 million kWh.

Wind power dropped 35.2% to 9.4 million kWh.

In January-February this year, Azerbaijan produced goods and provided services worth 553.3 million manats in the production, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas, and steam. The volume of products made in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector increased by 12.8% to 70.8 million manats.
