SOCAR to increase gasification level in Georgia to 88% by year-end

SOCAR Georgia Gas, the Georgian subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), will increase the gasification level in the country to 88% by the end of this year, Report informs, citing SOCAR's Sustainable Development Report for 2023.

According to the report, while the gasification level in Georgia was 46% in 2008, as a result of the joint activities of SOCAR Georgia Gas and the Georgian government, this figure is expected to reach 88% by the end of 2024.

The report states that as a result of the work carried out by the company, the number of subscribers, which was 71,000 in 2009, has reached 870,000 by early 2024.

In addition, between 2007 and 2023, the company installed up to 11,200 km of new gas pipelines.
