The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is ready to cooperate with Algeria's state-owned Sonatrach, Report informs, citing SOCAR.
At a meeting with the Algerian ambassador to Azerbaijan Salima Abdelhak, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev stressed the ample opportunities for cooperation between the two companies in all spheres of their activity.
During the meeting, the ambassador noted that Azerbaijan and Algeria have rich hydrocarbon reserves.
"We are closely watching the success of the strategically important infrastructural projects implemented in your country over the past years," Abdelhak said, stressing the completion of the construction of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the last segment of the Southern Gas Corridor on the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Europe.
The ambassador suggested studying new opportunities for cooperation between the two companies, including in the European market.
