Today, a public presentation of the Nur project took place - gas supply of Korca city (Albania), implemented by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) with the support of Azerbaijani investments, Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov wrote on X, Report informs.

The presentation took place with the participation of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku.

"As the first step in the development of Albania’s gas infrastructure, this project holds significant importance – not only by contributing to the diversification of the country’s energy supply and supporting its climate goals, but also by expanding the geography of Azerbaijan’s gas supply," Shahbazov wrote.

In November 2024, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy of Albania, Albgaz and SOCAR signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at developing gas infrastructure in the city of Korca. Construction of the gas infrastructure will begin in 2025 and is scheduled for completion in 2027.

On February 10, 2025, SOCAR opened its representative office in Albania, which is of strategic importance for the development of the country's infrastructure and will become the starting point for the implementation of a pilot gas supply project.
