SOCAR: Nearly 3.2 bcm of additional gas planned to be pumped to storehouses

Nearly 3.2 bcm of additional gas is planned to be pumped to storehouses before winter, Head of the Public Relations Department of SOCAR Ibrahim Ahmadov told Report.

According to him, gas production increases year-by-year in the country.

Azerbaijan has two underground gas storehouses – Galmaz and Garadagh. Gas pumping season lasts from April until November.

The capacity of Galmaz and Garadagh storehouses is planned to be increased to 5 billion cubic meters.

In order to expand the capacity of the Galmaz and Garadagh gas storehouses, the works on construction of new gas compressor station, gas distribution point are about to complete.

"SOCAR is fulfilling the tasks given by President Ilham Aliyev in order to meet the country's demand for gas and expand export opportunities in a planned way," SOCAR said.
