Shahbazov: Azerbaijan exported over 6 bcm of gas to Europe so far in 2024

In January – June of 2024, Azerbaijan exported 6.4 bcm of gas to Europe, 5 bcm to Türkiye, and 1.3 bcm to Georgia, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said on X, Report informs.
“During this period, TANAP supplied Türkiye with 2.8 bcm of gas. During 6 months this year, gas sales abroad increased by approximately 6 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year,” Shahbazov added.
The supply of Azerbaijani gas to Europe through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which is part of the Southern Gas Corridor, began at the end of 2020. Currently, the transmission capacity of the pipeline is 12 bcm of gas per year, and it is planned to increase it to 20 bcm by the end of 2027.
