Serbia ready to increase Russian gas transit to EU

Serbia is ready to increase the transit of Russian gas to EU countries through its territory, the country's Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper, Report informs.

"We have signed an agreement with Gazprom to increase gas imports. Technically we are ready for this. Russia offers us very fair prices, which are much lower than those on the European market and, in particular, the US," Vulin noted.

Earlier, President Aleksandar Vucic announced that Serbia had agreed with Russia on gas supply conditions for the upcoming winter.

In 2023, Serbia received 2.68 billion cubic meters of Russian gas. In 2024, the supply volume will reach 3 billion cubic meters. The current contract expires in March 2025.
