Greece is ready to support the expansion of the TAP pipeline, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said at the opening of the country's pavilion at COP29 in Baku, according to Report.
"I have made a strategic commitment to ensure regional energy security. At the end of 2020, we opened TAP, which supplies gas from Azerbaijan to Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, and Southeastern Europe," said the prime minister.
According to him, Greece "is ready to support the expansion of TAP if needed."
"We are also looking to the future, we know that today's gas infrastructure can become hydrogen infrastructure at some point in the future. And we must lay the foundations for such a transition. But I think there is another aspect of the vertical corridor that we must remember and need to pay attention to. I mean electricity," he emphasized.
