Oil transit volume via BTC pipeline down by almost 18%

In January-July of this year, 21.553 million tons of oil were transported via main oil pipelines of Azerbaijan, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.
This is 5.3% less than in the first seven months of 2024. Over the past period, 75% of transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) export oil pipeline.
In January-July, 16.156 million tons of oil were transported via this pipeline, which is 5.9% less than in the same period of 2024.
During the reporting period, 83.6% or 13.510 million tons of oil transported via the BTC pipeline was oil produced in Azerbaijan, and 16.4% or 2.645 million tons was oil imported from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. During this period, the volume of Azerbaijani oil transported via the BTC pipeline decreased by 3.2%, while the volume of imports from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan decreased by 17.7%.
