Oil transit through BTC soars by 43%

From January through June 2022, just over 17.747 million tons of oil (1.7% more than a year ago) were pumped through the main oil pipelines of Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, 79.5% of this volume was pumped through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.

During the reporting period, over 14.111 million tons of oil were pumped through BTC, 8% more than in the six months of last year.

During this period, slightly over 2 million tons of transit oil were also transported via BTC, which is 43.1% more than in the same period of 2021.
