Oil refining slightly dwindles in Azerbaijan

In January 2023, Azerbaijan refined 559,000 tons of oil, Report informs, citing the country's Energy Ministry.

Oil refining decreased by 24,000 tons or 4.1% compared to last year's last month.

The Heydar Aliyev Refinery of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is the only refinery complex in the region and provides most of Azerbaijan's fuel demand. The plant produces 15 types of petroleum products, including motor gasoline, aviation fuel, diesel fuel, fuel oil, petroleum coke, etc.

The refinery, founded in 1953, is implementing the second and third stages of the modernization and reconstruction project.
