Russia is not in talks on swap gas supplies to Europe from Azerbaijan and Türkiye to continue the operation of the Ukrainian gas transportation system after the termination of the Russia-Ukraine transit agreement with Moscow's participation, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told journalists, Report informs via Russian media.
"This is not being discussed because, first, there are no such proposals, and secondly, I don't think there is necessary gas transportation infrastructure for this," he said.
Naftogaz CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov had previously stated that the EU and Ukraine are looking for ways to ensure sustainable gas supplies to Europe after the termination of the Ukrainian-Russian transit agreement in 2024, one of which could be the supply of Azerbaijani gas.
