Baku and Belgrade will soon sign an agreement on additional supplies of Azerbaijani gas, Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović said at a meeting with President of Srbijagas Dušan Bajatović, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia.
"The minister discussed with Bajatovic the expansion of the Banatski Dvor underground gas storage facility and readiness for the heating season. At the same time, the minister expressed satisfaction with the level of filling of gas storage facilities both in Serbia and Hungary, adding that additional supplies from Azerbaijan have also been agreed upon," reads the report.
"In November, we will have 750 million cubic meters of gas in the Banatski Dvor and 163 million cubic meters of gas in the gas storage facility in Hungary. We also agreed on additional volumes from Azerbaijan, which we will receive in accordance with the needs, and we will formalize the agreement in the near future," the minister said.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, at a press conference in Baku on September 2 following talks with his Serbian counterpart Marko Đurić, said that Azerbaijan plans to gradually increase the volume of gas supplied to Serbia to 1 billion cubic meters per year.
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and Serbia's Srbijagas signed an agreement on the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Serbia on November 15, 2023. The agreement provides for the supply of up to 400 million cubic meters of gas per year from Azerbaijan to this country in 2024-2026, with the possibility of increasing the volume of supplies from 2027.
