Minister: 3.4M cubic meters of gas to be supplied daily from Azerbaijan to Syria

The transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Syria via Turkish territory has officially begun, Syria's Energy Minister Mohammed Al Bashir told journalists after the ceremony marking the start of Azerbaijani gas deliveries to Syria via Türkiye, Report informs.

According to the minister, the current infrastructure allows for the transportation of 6 million cubic meters of gas annually: "Currently, at the initial stage, 3.4 million cubic meters of natural gas will be transferred daily. I would like to express my gratitude to our Azerbaijani brothers for this opportunity and support. This process, in fact, became possible after our country's president's meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his recent visit (to Baku)."

Mohammed Al Bashir added that this project will directly serve the welfare of the Syrian people and ensure sustainable energy supply.
