Masdar reveals date of commissioning solar power plant in Azerbaijan's Alat

The construction of 230 megawatts of solar energy plant in Azerbaijan will start in March 2022 and will be fully commissioned in 18 months, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar told Report.

“The project on a construction of 230 megawatts of solar energy is progressing well and is going along the schedule,” he said, adding that there will be a grand breaking end by the end of March.

Masdar is one of the largest renewable energy developers in the Middle East. The company also cooperates with Azerbaijan. In April 2021, the Azerbaijani government and Masdar signed a contract for the construction of a 230 megawatt solar power plant in Alat.

The total investment value of the project is about $200 million.
