Trade can act as an accelerator for climate policy and encourage the spread of green technologies, WTO Deputy Director General Jean-Marie Paugam said during the event "Financing Greener Value Chains in the CAREC Region" as part of the ADB annual meeting in Tbilisi, according to Report.
Last year, the WTO prepared a toolkit on how to use trade in climate policy, he added.
He expressed hope that Azerbaijan will also take up the initiative to use trade to address climate change.
