Green energy accounts for 53% of electricity production in Nakhchivan

In March 2025, alternative and renewable energy sources accounted for 52.8% of the electricity produced in the operational area of ​​the State Energy Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

According to Report, last month, 29,525,626 kWh of electricity was produced at the power plants in the operational area of ​​the State Energy Service.

Of this, 13,929,379 kWh or 47.2% were produced at thermal power plants, 9,345,375 kWh or 31.6% were produced at hydroelectric power plants, and 6,250,872 kWh or 21.2% were produced at solar and wind-solar hybrid power plants and transmitted to the power grids.

Compared to the same period last year, the share of thermal power plants in total electricity production decreased by 14.5%, the share of hydroelectric power plants increased by 8.9%, and the share of solar power plants increased by 5.5%.

Some 15,596,247 kWh of electricity was produced from alternative and renewable energy sources, which accounts for 52.8% of total energy.
