Gas futures in Europe rise over 8%

Gas futures prices in Europe at the opening of trading on Thursday exceeded $2,000 per thousand cubic meters, which means an increase of more than 8%.
Report informs citing data from the London ICE Futures Exchange that the price of April futures on the index of the most liquid European hub TTF at the opening of trading amounted to $2,065.9, an increase of 8.7% from the settlement price the day before - $1,900. Further, the quotes slightly decreased to $2,054.5.
Gas prices in Europe have shown substantial volatility in recent days against the backdrop of Russia's military operations in Ukraine.
