EU to refuse transit of Russian gas through Ukraine from next year

The EU will abandon the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine from 2025, European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson said at a press conference following a meeting of the EU Council at the level of energy ministers, Report informs.
The institution is currently studying the possibility of using Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.
At the same time, the commissioner admitted that EU countries do not support a ban on the purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia.
