EU develops plan to phase out Russian gas

The European Union (EU) should stop importing Russian gas as soon as possible, European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton said, Report informs via CNews.
Thierry Breton said that the EU intends to increase purchases of liquefied natural gas from the United States and Qatar, as well as increase the availability of green energy. A new plan envisages 50 billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas imports from the United States and Qatar.
According to the commissioner, Putin has been doing everything for years to divide Europe.
“He (Vladimir Putin) tried to divide us with the Sputnik vaccine, but to no avail. He did everything with Russia Today to undermine our democracy, and now he uses gas to divide us,” Breton said.
