By 2025, Russian gas in Italy will be completely replaced, said Claudio Descalzi, CEO of the energy company Eni, Report informs referring to Italian media.
He said that in 2023 the share of Russian gas in the Italian market will be 6-7%. Currently, Russian gas has been replaced by 50%.
Descalzi noted that the Italian authorities began to look for alternative sources of gas supplies in February, turning to African countries, the Middle and Far East, and the US.
“Already now we have managed to replace 50% of the 21-23 billion cubic meters of Russian gas, and in 2025 100% will be replaced,” he explained.
