The European Union is ready to explore the possibilities of expanding energy integration with the South Caucasus region, EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jorgensen said at the third meeting of the high-level energy dialogue, created to develop a strategic energy partnership between Azerbaijan and the European Union, in Brussels, Report informs.
He stressed that this dialogue is an indicator of close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU in the energy sector.
"Such a dialogue is conducted with very few countries. We highly appreciate Azerbaijan's efforts in this direction. Achieving energy security requires risk prevention. Energy infrastructure is the basis for advancing our energy transition. We are ready to explore the possibilities of expanding energy integration between the South Caucasus region and the European region. This can also be realized with the mobilization of guarantees and mixed financial instruments," Jorgensen noted.
The energy dialogue between Azerbaijan and the EU has been ongoing since 2022.
