Daily gas production at Umid-1 stationary platform to grow

After the implementation of the project “Acceleration of production on the stationary platform Umid-1” within the Umid-Babek project, it is planned to increase the daily gas production to 8.1 million cubic meters, and condensate - up to 1,200 tons (9,000 barrels), Report informs referring to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

The project implemented by SOCAR is one of the first projects in the company’s history based on international experience, using innovative technologies and modern equipment. The main goal of the project is to expand the transportation system on the Umid-1 platform and increase production by drilling new wells.

According to preliminary estimates, the total reserves of the Umid gas field are 200 billion cubic meters of gas and 40 million cubic meters of condensate.

The field, taking into account the restrictions of the transportation system, produces 3 million cubic meters of gas and 470 tons (3,600 barrels) of condensate daily and they are transported to the Dashgil terminal.

As part of the project “Acceleration of production on the stationary platform Umid-1” important work is being carried out, including the laying of a 20-inch (500 mm) underwater transport line with a length of 54 km and its onshore section with a length of about 3.7 km, the construction of a gas transmission line from the Dashgil-2 terminal.

Relevant government agencies, local and international subcontractors (SOCAR Neftgaztikinti trust, SOCAR Dalgidj, Wood Group, Jan De Nul, Saipem, Oceaneering) took part in the work on the project.
