The project of improving the energy efficiency and capacity of the steam generator complex at the ethylene-polyethylene plant continues successfully, Report informs.
Imran Arzumanzade, Director General of Azerikimya production association of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), which implements the project, said at a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Azerbaijan Ralf Horlemann, that the aim of the project is to increase the energy efficiency and production capacity of the steam generator complex, which provides the plant with electricity.
Arzumanzade informed the ambassador about cooperation with German companies, the participation of German companies in the completed joint modernization and reconstruction project.
According to him, in order to implement the project, in 2016 SOCAR signed an agreement with the German company Uniper and created a joint venture SOCAR-UNIPER.
"Work is being successfully completed at the ethylene-polyethylene plant to bring the design capacity of the existing steam generator complex from 32 MW/h (actually 13 MW/h) to 65 MW/h. An additional turbogenerator was installed and the existing technological system was improved to this end. Also, due to the internal capabilities of Azerikimya, the existing old substation was reconstructed and put into operation," he said.
