Capacity of Azerbaijan TPP units to be increased 3 times

The capacity of the 7th and 8th power units of the Azerbaijan Thermal Power Station of Azerenergy Open Joint Stock Company will be increased three times, Report informs, citing the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan on the implementation of additional measures related to the improvement of electricity supply in the Republic of Azerbaijan signed today.

According to the document, it is planned to increase the capacity of the 600 MW 7th and 8th power units with an extra 1,280 MW by applying modern technologies to the existing equipment of Azerbaijan TPP.

The modernization of the TPP will ensure the country's energy stability, create additional generation capacities, meet energy demand, increase export opportunities, protect the environment, save natural gas in the production of electricity, prevent cataclysms related to climate change, and create new jobs in the region.
