Bulgaria boosts imports of Azerbaijani gas in January

In January 2025, Bulgaria imported 160.28 million cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan, marking a 1.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

According to Report, which cites the State Statistics Committee, Bulgaria accounted for 6.9% of Azerbaijan's total gas exports during the reporting period.

Other key importers of Azerbaijani gas in January included:

Greece – 80.19 million cubic meters (+0.1%) worth $43.67 million (+0.1%) (3.4% share).
Serbia – 34.75 million cubic meters worth $16.69 million (1.5% share).

As previously reported, Azerbaijan exported a total of 2.34 billion cubic meters of gas in January (+21.1%), valued at $870.08 million (+17.6%). The gas was delivered to six countries: Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Türkiye, and Georgia.
