BTC oil transportation through Turkey declines by 8%

In May this year, 15.580 million barrels of oil were transported through Turkey via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, down 1.374 million barrels or 8.4% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the Turkish pipeline operator BOTAS.
In January-May 2021, 84.185 million barrels of oil were delivered through Turkey by the BTC pipeline, a drop of 10.558 million barrels or 11.14% from the first five months of 2020.
The BTC pipeline mainly carries oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields and condensate from Shah Deniz. Moreover, other crude oil and condensate volumes, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, are transported through the BTC.
